Staff and Program Structure
Little Pilgrim Preschool's teachers are selected for their warmth, expertise, and understanding of young children. All staff meet the Florida state background screening requirements and are certified in First Aid and CPR. Each Lead Teacher holds one of the following; a degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education with specialization in Early Childhood Education, a National Child Development Certificate (CDA),or a Florida Childcare Professional Certification. Many of the Teaching Assistants hold these degrees and certifications as well. All staff complete the Department of Children and Families 45 hour child care training course, as well as 15+ hours of continuing education annually.

Classrooms are kept at a low teacher-student ratio in order to provide a nurturing loving environment for the children & teachers. Little Pilgrim Preschool prides itself on creating a family atmosphere with the children and the parents, and develops strong bonds to tie family life in with school life. These low ratios also allow teachers to ensure that each child's emotional and educational needs are planned for individually.

Little Pilgrim Preschool is owned and operated by First Congregational United Church of Christ under the direct supervision of the Board of Education of the church. It is the policy of both the church and the school to welcome individuals from, all backgrounds, races, sexes, color, and origin. Our senior pastor and board also take part in the weekly chapel scheduled for the Pre K children. Through a variety of stories and songs, this lesson enhances the character development that is such a vital part of the Preschool.

In order to give a better feel for the program opportunities you are invited to set up a tour. This visit will allow you the chance to see the classroom, meet the staff, and families currently enrolled at Little Pilgrim Preschool.  We invite volunteers, community helpers, and others of interest to join us. New children and new parents bring new interests and talents to our school.
